Sidetrack Cafe Closes
The Sidetrack Cafe, Edmonton, Canada.
On February 15/2007, The Sidetrack Cafe in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada closed it's doors to the public.
For 26 years, this institution supported independent music locally and nationally.
Read more about the closing here

While this is a terrible loss for new music in Canada, it is important to recognize the contribution that this venue, it's staff and most importantly it's patrons did make.
THANK YOU for making our music better.
How do you feel about the closing of venues that support new/independent music? Is a change necessary? Do you care?

NEEDED: Produced/finished songs for a Christmas compilation CD (injoi Music) to be distributed in Canada as a give away by a well-known Canadian University. Click below for details.
Thanks to a friend and fellow artist Tammy Raybould for sharing this opportunity with TheMusicalRevolution.
Greetings:
I am in search of non-religious Christmas songs from Canadian artists
for a new Christmas Compilation CD to be distributed in Canada as a give away by a well-known Canadian University.
I need material ASAP!... and am exploring whether you might have some music - songs, finished CDs, unreleased tracks etc., that you feel would fit and consider having it included. Or, perhaps you know a colleague, client or friend who might contribute. (unreleased or released material)
These songs need to be produced and completed. They need to be either Public Domain songs or songs written by you and/or co-writers/colleagues. Well known songs will be considered too -but limited.
A combined, to be determined, pub/mech. per unit royalty will be paid.
(approx 100,000 units to be pressed)
All styles including instrumentals and vocals are welcomed and will be considered.
I am currently compiling possible artists now and need product ASAP.
To speed up the process and in addition to hard copies (see below) - please email me manageable mp3 files of possible songs ASAP and email to:
Please put Songs for Canadian Christmas CD in header and please include your website url too in the body of the email.
Please send music by post in CD format and 2 copies of each CD (or song) title submitted for consideration ASAP to:
Anthony J.W. Benson
injoi Music
P.O. Box 1152

Please email me to let me know that you are sending samples and include your phone number and email address. If I hear something I like and it fits the project I will call you directly and work out the specific details accordingly.
This is a non-exclusive deal.
If I like what I hear, I will call you, so please be clear on how I nan reach you.
My gratitude in advance for your submission.
Thanks for your help and consideration. I hope to (literally) hear from you soon.
Please pass this request onto friends, clients and colleagues...

Individual Category Graphics
In an effort to improve site navigation, all entries will be followed with a shiny new identification graphic (see below). Oooh...:)
Clicking the graphic will take you to more entries in the same category.

For the next month or so we will be test driving these new additions (14 in all). If you have any suggestions or comments, please don't hesitate to email the revolution @: weblog@themusicalrevolution.com or leave a comment below.

Finely Tuned Weblog.
Less than a month old and we've already had our first makeover:
Colour change - altho most striking, probably the least significant.
Font size - smaller letters = more info on the page. More is good.
Callender Sidebar - Gone! If you don't know what day it is by now then there's nothing this site can do for ya.
Recent Entries Sidebar - And again... gone! Recent entries? They're right there on the main page. Fuck!
Most Recent Comments Sidebar - New Addition (not "New Edition" - yeah screw Bobby Brown, Bell, Bif, Curly and Moe or whoever...). Now we can see what other people are saying about any of the topics in real time. Klik on the (#) sign to see the comment itself. Klik on the name to get their homesite. Finally, klik on "entry" for the entire of specific entry commented upon.
Enjoy!

Weblog Categories
Topics of interest specific to music enthusiasts.
Brace yourselves! The categories are coming! Categories like Monthly Newsletters, Prewebsite Newsletters and this one, Announcements; well, it doesn't take old Al Einstein to figure out what they're about does it? Still, other categories may be a little more challenging to understand. These will be introduced and explained. For those who are "categorically challenged" just stay tuned - it'll all make sense after a few vodka's :)
Categories are introduced to make it easier to get around this confounded weblog! They live on the right hand side of the main page - klik on one to see all of it's entries.
If you have an idea for a weblog category send it in to: weblog@themusicalrevolution.com
Klik below, "comments" to give us your two cents about this announcement.
To read other announcements (although right now this is the first) klik Announcements on the right hand side of the weblog main page.
Categorically speaking, "this category is a category that need not be categorized."
