More Gear For The Independent Solo Acoustic Musician (that you can afford)
EON10 G2 Powered Speakers: 7 bills+ ea. Canadian. http://www.jblpro.com/eong2/EON10G2.htm
If you have acquired a piece of gear that you are particularly fond of - share by Commenting. Copyright your music ideas, not your gear choices.
Note: The above gear took me years to acquire; it is NOT for sale. I am sharing this information with other musicians to help them in their search. I have no sponsors.
I spent about 2 years trying to figure out how to best piece together a PA that I could transport on foot. There is a few all in one choices, but I decided that it would be best for me in the long run to buy the pieces individually. One thing that I did discover is that an amp is usually quite heavy and can be a hassle to set up, These powered (have built in amps) speakers are about 23 lbs a piece and are made of a co-polymer material which is quite durable and sharp looking.
Extras: 125 Watt low/50 Watt high frequency bi-amped drivers.
2 inputs on each speaker; balanced and unbalanced trs.
90 Hz to 16 KHz frequency response.
Strong/lightweight black co-polymer enclosure.
Check the JBL site for more: http://www.jbl.com/
Check HERE for the mixer that I use in conjunction with these speakers.

2. DO YOU CARE?: Puff the Magic Daddy, Wacko West, 2 Pac's 'official' protection, Kurt Cobain, Kurt Cobain, Kurt Cobain and Aqua's Greatest Hit!
THEMUSICALREVOLUTION.COM THIS MONTH: Big RevoWelcome to our newest member, Em: Check this out: This past month has been the busiest on record for TheMusicalRevolution; better than double our total hits for last month and almost 2500 brand new visitors from almost 70 different countries. Part of the reason is that October is a slow month. Part of it is the great MySpace and Facebook traffic we've been enjoying. But. A great deal of it has been the presence of basement musicians 'The GP's'. I'd like to personally thank the boys for letting us debut their first three singles from their forthcoming album, 'Fight For Fame'. For more on the boys check our Oct. newsletter: http://www.themusicalrevolution.com/weblog/monthly_newsletters/index.html and join us in encouraging them to start up their own MySpace page so we can hear more of their music.
EDITORIAL:
http://www.garageband.com/user/i220
As you all are now painfully aware, I'm sure, I've been pimping the new song, 'Measures' by Toronto M.C. feat. (which was produced by yours truly, a.k.a. i220) alot as of late. Well, now I've gone and entered it online at GarageBand.com for review and appreciation.
The schtick of GB is that artists/bands can submit their music for listening and review. Music lovers/other artists review the songs/pieces and the best reviewed get a chance at a record deal.
Now, I'm sure that you can see as many flaws in this idea(l) as I can, but the fact remains that quite a bit of the feedback (that not being delivered by sulking idiots who can't understand why they aren't the next BIG thing yet ;) is very helpful. Even more inspiring is that quite a lot of the music is really good and actually 'alternative'. Now, where there's a rating system there's corruption but, this site is just enough under the radar that I think their charts have far more legitimacy than the ones published by the big dogs!
So...
Check it! Do it! We have:
And.
Listen to the radio again, knowing that the songs being played were actually ones chosen by YOU :D
Love,
Mattyy
MUSIC NEWS:
1. NOTHING TO REPORT: Yeah - you read it right. I'm sure that musicians did things of consequence this past month. I'm sure that someone, somewhere reported on it. But, aside from Paris backing out of going to Rwanda and Radiohead's album release going from revolutionary to mediocre to publicity stunt, I haven't heard a thing :S Have you?
2. DO YOU CARE?: Man, even the joke news is weak this month. Diddy gettin' sued again? I'ma going to call him PMart from now on... Ok. Let the shitshow begin. Kanye and Jacko are about to throw down "ON WAX"! I can hear the acceptance speech now. "I'd like to thank little Timmy for voting for us. And little Jenny, Little Marie and Little... Well, this kinda changes shit up a bit doesn't it? Apparently, Pac's bodyguard was a federali. Man, do I feel safe now :S... Courtney 'cash-in' Love is planning yet another Kurt Cobain appreciation thingy which I refuse to promote 'cause I think that she's a money grubbin'.. wait a minute.. I just did promote it?.. Damn! LOL!... And finally the BIG news! Aqua is BACK biTches! That's right. Drink it in. I can sense the excitement!
*Collected from a variety of online NEWS sources and summed up here for your enjoyment/enlightenment.*
Until next month,
Please contribute to better music. YOUR music.
