SLAVE DAZE

Poetry by Christine

Chains around my ankles,
But i'm not an animal you see,
You took me from my homeland,
And now i am not free,

My love i see no longer,
I have no reason to sing,
Its hard to love, its hard to laugh,
I'm like a bird with just one wing,

You sold me like cattle,
As if i was imported silk or tea,A TheMusicalRevolution.Com Freestyle, Song Lyric or Poem
I don't even speak your language,
Why do you look down on me?

Now i pick your cotton,
My sister scrubs your feet,
The white man is not my friend,
Just a lazy,lyin', cheat!

"MLK Day" by the artists The Sky Beneath feat. DJ Nos, Furia and Self-Suffice. I'm a year back on this as it came out at the beginning of '06 but as we are heading into '07, the message is just as important!

Left, Right, Left, Right...

Why?
Where am i?
Eye.
S'like a bad dream.
Sweat stream...

Right, Left, Right, Left...

Self Respect.
Protect.
Reject.
Section'd off at the back.
Attack...

Left, Right, Left, Right...

Fight.
In sight.
Demand the right.
The man is not always,
Pray while he preys...

Right, Left, Right, Left...

Theft.
Still,
It falls on deaf ears.
For years.
How many tears must fall?

to M.C. Free, dig the poem, reminded me of my bootcamp days back in 81, it was a trip, loved the physical exercise, didn't dig the bullshit of the military. we marched 15 miles one day and i actually fell asleep while marching, man, i was tired, dog tired, but had some cool days and met some cool peeps too during that time.
