BEFORE ITS TOO LATE
POETRY by: christine clarke
soon they'll be gone
we'll need to stand up
we... the youth
are the future
lets not follow in
their footsteps
lets start a revolution
what they're doin'
isn't workin'
we know whats up
we see whats down
they say were free
i disagree
all nations should be one
put down your weapons
drop your guns
greed has replaced peace
indeed
don't care about your neighbor
just the fame
its a shame
whos to blame?
the time will come
rivers dried up
cus' we didn't change
we'll be gone
our families will suffer
not seeing the gifts that
God had made
the gifts we regifted
took and shifted
its time to step up to the plate
change the world in
a positive way
before its too late!!

Ahhhh... Yeah... It's a Baby Boomer Invasion.
Hippie turned Yuppie occasion.
S'like the days of Jesus Christ.
When a man who stood against the church got cut,
Sliced.
Removed from circulation.
For promoting togetherness.
Nation with nation.
Now the devils preach salvation under his name.
But.
Their game isn't...
Sinister ministers who live in castles watching big screen televisions.
Hell.
Their mission is self.
The man said to forsake the material - put it on a shelf.
But you and I are the wealthiest - healthiest.
While the rest (80%) are swept under the carpet.

The Rheostatics *Last Performance*
Mar.30/07 @ Massey Hall, Toronto, Canada.
http://www.rheostatics.ca/
"For the last 21 years, Rheostatics' songwriting frontline of Dave Bidini, Martin Tielli, Tim Vesely, and more currently, drummer/producer Michael Phillip Wojewoda, have helped spark and shepherd contemporary CanRock from a self-conscious sound-alike scene into a spirited universal force, leaving classic albums like Melville, Whale Music, Music Inspired by the Group of Seven, Story of Harmelodia, and 2067 in their sonic wake. After much consternation, it has been resolved that the March 30th, 2007 date at Massey Hall will be the last live performance for the group as they have existed for the last few decades. The Rheostatics may continue to persevere in one form or another in the future, but not with their current lineup intact. For fans of the Rheostatics, it will be the last chance to see this band as they've appeared heretofore; one final evening with Canada's most beloved, longstanding rock band."

REVOLUTION by Chase Martin
I will change this God-forsaken place
I will have no fear and show my face
I will take this journey
And not relent til im carried off on a gurney
Ill take my dream for PEACE, and find a piece
A piece of tranquility for all
Where Freedom can trully ring
And once again the people can sing
Ill stop this Governments tyranny and facist ways
By bringing our people out of this foggy haze
Ill stand up againt the biggest power of them all
And tear down this governments wall
People we NEED a REVOLUTION
By bringing back to life our CONSTITUTION
This man will continue to dream
Until our country is all on the same team
It is our Responsibility to fight for what is right
And these dreams are so within sight
No more disgrace of our flag
With some WEAK ASS price tag
Lets lay down the sword
And show once and for all why we are the greatest country in the World!

M. Martin,
That's some serious lyric my friend! I feel tha frustration and need! I have this dream. It is where, the next time terrorists strike our nation - we all react in a united way. It is my wish that we all sing a lament. All of us. Then, when they strike again - we collectively sing two laments. Third time we sing three and send our best choirs to their lands to sing for their people. And each time they strike we sing. I wonder how long it would last? I wonder how long their people would tolerate them killing singing people? Because, I know that their God doesn't hate music.
Sad Days.
Big Love.
PS. Will post this piece on the main page as long as you don't object.

chase martin, from one hell raising protesting hippie woman from the 60's, i dig your poetry. the only way we are going to get our freedom back is to protest the abuse america's current president is laying on us. it worked in the 60's and the 70's, it will work now. the motto HELL NO WE WON'T GO is as good today as it was during the viet nam war. would love to see you post your poetry on www.stayhuman.org (spearhead vibrations) too. a very liberal and political site, we also have a great poetry section. matty's a great dude and has posted alot of my poetry here too. keep on keepin on my brother in peace.

POWER TO THE PEOPLE
Posted by: angel at September 29, 2006 03:28 PM
I totally agree angel, but the only difference between the 60's and now, is that we have to make the people realize that yes this is a corrupt system with a corrupt President;however is goes deeper than that, we need to make the people realize and fight the biggest problem of them all, the Federal reserve (the bank owners) They are the ones with the money, and ultimately the dictators of our country, we need to abolish the unconstitutioinal federal reserve before its too late... We need to go with Kennedy's views and make America better, thank you all for your praises on my poem, trully flatters me, keep Peace and Love alive people, we will prevail With all the Love in the World Your Friend
