MUSIC NEWS:
1. U.K. PRIVATE SECTOR WISH TO BUY RADIO 1 & 2: The European Media Forum (EMF) is pressuring the BBC to sell its staple radio stations which currently hold 60% of the listener market. Commercial radio blame the B for their monetary struggles as of late and feel that privatization would force the stations to be more publically responsible. Detractors argue that the current private market does not and would not offer the varied programming that the public sector can and does provide.
2. GLASOW JAZZ FESTIVAL LOSES FUNDING: Weak programming and lack of public influence are the reasons cited by the Scottish Arts Council for stripping the event of it's core monies. The event organizer's have been bound to fill seats by key sponsors and by doing so have compomised the integrity of the music; or so it is felt.
3. MOG - PART iTUNES/PART MYSPACE: http://mog.com/ - The site that lets you share your listening preferences and playlists with the whole world just by signing up. Meet music geeks like yourself and discover new music the old fashioned way; by word of mouth.
4. BUSH SHOWS JAPAN'S PRIME MINISTER AROUND GRACELAND: In an effort to continue good relations with the east, the US prez and Mr. Junichiro Koizumi have recently taken a break from their summit to tour the hallowed musical landmark. Mr. K is said to be a huge "King" fan even releasing his own collection of Elvis favorites which was a commercial success back home.
5. WHO CARES?: It's my party and I can shoot innocent bystanders if I want to... Uh... Lloyd Banks... Dave is NOT dead! Repeat. Dave Grohl is Not dead. He's just Kurt Cobain in disguise... Oprah has NO problem with rap. Just men. And poor people. And trailor parks. And talent... Ahh.. Gary Glitter.. Gary Glitter.. Gary... Talk about beauty and the.. best damn blowjobber in the music industry! Game to marry congressman's daughter... Dem Franchize Boyz. What franchize? Coke? McDoobies?.. Apparently Slash is ok with Axl. So, will there be a Gn'R reunion? Maybe in the tabloids OR maybe in Axl's ass as he seems reluctant to pull his head out of it... Finally. Lil' Kim to be released on good behavior. Uhm. That's go*ughcoughchoke*od be*suckingcock*hav*handjob*ior... Told you it blows.

Platinum Blue Music Intelligence is a program that Sony/BMG are using to determing what music to market. The software has an 80% success rate. Other majors are jumping on the bandwagon. This means that if your music scores low with this program then you will not be signed or promoted by Sony/BMG. If all 5 majors start to use this system???
It's scary that our tastes can be tallied like this. It's very scary for new art - It's the worst invention since money as a deterant for real art :S
Big Love.
