Were Zinadine and Rooney paid off? I know this is not musical and I know that it's seriously conspiracy theory bullshit but... When the Rooney incident happened, I thought something might be up. But, maybe it was my disappointment that was fueling my imagination. But. When I witnessed Zidane headbutting Marco Materazzi I started to wonder... Article
Who headbutts someone in the chest? Who, in their anger resorts to something so reduculous and "unprimal"? Could it be someone who knows that he must throw the match but is afraid to go to penalties, especially since he has made one already in the game! A grand gesture is what would be needed, not an act of retribution. How about throwing one's whole body into another's? Grand enough for you? And, it still almost got ignored. Maybe even the pride kicked in and he wanted his true fans to know that he would never have lost on purpose so he chose the rediculous in which to send the message???
I know. It's all just a little too... "John Grisham". But. Then I heard about the suicide attempt of Juergen Keissling, the World Cup organizer. Article
He cited "political problems" in his suicide notes to family. Are we to believe that shooting himself was an act of disgrace over a footballer's stupidity? A more likely motive would be guilt; guilt over accepting personal money to fix events - guilt over possibly being discovered as the one who let these things take place and most of all, guilt at becoming the "Judas/Pilot" of a sporting event that is (at least) pure to naive children the world wide.
I know. There's always those sourpusses who like to say that it's all bought at least until their team wins. But, this time it all seems too much to ignore. And. Although we may all suspect that there's a fink out there, until it's proven, we are happy to "not know" just so we can hope the next time. Is it time to step in and ensure that the next time there is no doubt? When will it be? S'all just a conspiracy theory. And if I'm not around in a coupla days ;)
Big Love.
PS. I feel that the Italian team woulda won either way but some have way too much invested to take a chance.
