THEMUSICALREVOLUTION.COM THIS MONTH: This month we'd like to send out big love to Cara and recognize these NEW countries to tha fold: China, Guatemala, Korea (South) & Peru. 65 countries and counting. The "NewMusicalRevolution" Update: Research/Design/PreConstruction phase :) So, I finally got that tune up *says sheepishly*. My cover of "Gold Dust Woman" originally recorded by Fleetwood Mac now graces the Corporate Cash Cow... page http://www.themusicalrevolution.com/ccc.php The recording skills are still "coming along" but I am quite proud of the whole thing musically. Chek it - it's only a 5 meg'ish' download ;)
EDITORIAL:
To put it plainly and simply, I am not a fan of politics. Politics to me is persuasion and persuasion is tricky. The only politicians that I admire are those who sacrifice themselves for others. This brings me to Rosa Parks - R.I.P.
This past month, the political icon died at the age of 92 peacefully in her sleep. She is most revered for refusing to surrender her seat on the bus to a white man in times of racial segregation and a prevailing master/slave mentality. This act of defiance cost her $14.00 and time spent in jail. Her simple yet profound actions on that day in 1955 sparked an entire civil rights movement in the U.S. and made her a beacon of hope around the world for the suppressed and poverty stricken.
What I find most compelling and most relevent about this story is that it is so "not" extra-ordinary. Simple self sacrifice can mean the world to the world. This should be inspirational to us all.
Mrs. Parks' death got me to think of my own self sacrifice. As I sit at my computer sipping coffee, what am I offering to the world? A little research on the internet (see: www.worldbank.org) teaches me that the average income of a person living on this planet works out to $17.21 (Americain currency) daily. In order for us to live our comfortable lives 70+% of the world have to live on less than that with almost a 6th of the planet living on >$1. Maybe I should've forgone the double expresso with whipped cream on top ;)
The only conclusions that I can come up with are as follows: $17.21 sounds liveable? If I use the extra to try and give back the only way that I know how, then and only then can I really have an opinion on the matter. Then and only then can I be a worthwhile "politician". Until then, I'm gonna shut up and continue to make music the best that I can. You can download my latest offering @: http://www.themusicalrevolution.com/ccc.php - sadly, 70% of the world can't afford to :(
Damn you Rosa Parks for making me think political. God bless you for everything else!
Mad Love,

MUSIC NEWS:
1. BONO AND BOB GELDOLF NOMINATED FOR NOBEL PEACE PRIZE: Both were nominated this last month for their efforts in pressuring G8 leaders to increase financial aid to African countries. The award was given to the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) and its Director General, Mohamed ElBaradei for their efforts in esuring safe and peaceful use of nuclear energy. In other Bono news: The U2 front man dined with the president this last month. Lunch conversation included topics such as debt relief, AIDS, malaria, world trade and the band's upcoming concerts in Washington.
2. DIGITAL FILE CHECK - ANTI FILE-SHARING SOFTWARE: The International Federation of Phonographic Industries has released a program designed to prevent illegal file swapping. "Digital File Check" can help people remove unwanted file-sharing programs off of their home computers or large companies can use it to police work systems. The program is available online and through CD distribution in 8 European countries so far.
3. NEW YORK AND LOUISIANA PHILHARMONIC ORCHESTRAS UNITE FOR BENEFIT: Members of both orchestras performed an all American composed program at a concert held on October 28th at the Lincoln Center's Avery Fisher Hall. Proceeds went to rebuilding the Louisianna Philharmonic in the wake of Hurricane Katrina. For further details check: Louisiana Philharmonic - www.lpomusic.org or New York Philharmonic - www.newyorkphilharmonic.org
4. APPLE SUED FOR FRAGILE NANO iPODS: A group of unhappy customers are suing the company stating that the device's screen can "scratch excessively during normal usage," rendering it unreadable. The suit further claims that the Nano's screen is protected by a resin that is inferior to it's predecessors and that Apple have all but ignored the defect despite user complaints of screens cracking even under "normal" use. More information at: www.flawedmusicplayer.com
5. WHO CARES? - The NBA and its players association have decided that all of its players should dress "business casual" immediately prior to and following all games. No more Hip Hop styles. No more headphones. Not surprising. It's been a long time since any real (non corporate) fan was at a meet and greet or able to afford tickets close enough to see what our boys are actually wearing... Bonehead Boy George called the cops to report a robbery but ended up getting busted for cocaine posession. Apparently, BG's repeated screams of, "...but I'm Boy George" and "has anybody got a bloody tissue" did nothing to help the ex Culture Clubber's case... Janet (Jackson), meet Billie Jean. Billie, the kid is not Janet's (son) daughter either... Wacko Jacko musta made some friends back in the old judicial system of the great U.S of A. The alleged "potty trainer" has just been called in for jury duty??? What the? Ain't that kinda like asking Ted Kaczynski (Unabomber) to watch your house for the weekend?.. B.I.G. - R.I.P. Sorry CW but you're gonna have to wait for that 'cause a bunch 'o money grubbin' popsters are gonna ride your legacy (and Bob Marley's) all the way to the bank... New Notorius B.I.G duets album out Dec. 21st... and now a word from our sponsor... A panel of magazine editors, artists and designers has chosen the picture of a naked John Lennon and Yoko Ono taken hours before the icon was gunned down as the best magazine cover of the last 40 years. The picture was later used by Rolling Stone as a tribute to the dead Beatle and marks not the first or apparently the last time society has capitalized on the death of a musical genius... Blah blah blah bitter blah loser blah blah... LOL!

Outkast - "Ah ha, hush that fuss, Everybody move to the back of the bus. Do you wanna bump and slump with us? We the type of people make the club get crunk..." I guess it really wasn't what Rosa was about. She sued the group and lost. Personally, I love the song but I'm not sure if I woulda gone that way if I was Outkast. We all owe her a great deal and should honour what she stood for. I'm sure jail wasn't a party :(
Big Love.
