The Rokkenrohl Revolution
Mr Leeroy Rokkenrohl is putting together a film that will "voice the opinions of Canadians opposed to the American (war/struggle for power) bullying that has gone on for too long."
CALLING ALL: What do you think of this? Share opinions here.
If you have music/artwork to submit to the film, contact Mr. Rokkenrohl here: rokkenrohl@hotmail.com
Read on to discover Leeroy's motivation and intentions - click below.
Dear friends,
I know that I am usually a jackass and center my film and music ideas around funny material, but I am currently preparing to organize a project of a far more serious nature and would like to open it up to anyone interested in the cause. Please take the time to read this, I swear that it's not some crazy chain letter or useless petition and I don't want any money. These ideas are all from the heart of Leeroy Rokkenrohl.
As a Canadian, I have always been leery of the Great American Power Machine and the propaganda war that it has been waging on the rest of the world. Our generation has been witness to numerous events that have cast an unfavorable light on U.S. politics. I protested nuclear weapons with my mom as a young child. I have seen the damage the States has done in the Middle East in the 80's; not to mention 2 Iraqi wars in the 90's and now. The United States government seems to always have justified reasons concerning peace and freedom, but in recent years there is more and more evidence that Team America is simply out to conquer the world like some kind of new Roman Empire. What's worse is that they are now seemingly employing techniques of propaganda and torture reminiscent of the Nazi regime.
Facts have come to light about the repeated staging of attacks on American soil to sway the American public to back wars that are unjust. The U.S. has not set out to correct the corrupt aspects of communism around the world but instead it has been determined to destroy the concept all together because communist ideals interfere with the capitalist money making plan. I personally think that there are more important things in life than money like the freedom to disagree with the American way of life without fear of prosecution, torture and being labeled a terrorist.
My friends, I could not me more opposed to the conduct of the U.S. government and I am not a terrorist for feeling this way! This is my right as a peace loving Canadian citizen to oppose the FBI, the CIA, the secret capture and torture of free people and the domination of our planet by a country that has no right to preach its distorted moral views to anyone! I not only feel horribly sad for all of the innocent people around the globe who have been violated by Western politics, but I also have complete empathy for the millions of good Americans who are trapped in a dictatorship disguised as democracy! I am afraid that any number of countries will decide to wage a war against the United States and we will find ourselves right smack in the middle of WWIII.
I don't want to go to war! And, with the vast natural resources in Canada, it seems only a matter of time until the American nation tries to engulf our country. It's already happening and I sure as hell am not willing to become a part of what's going on down there!
The rest of the world needs to come together to oppose this insane corporate conglomeration that has hijacked the United States of America and the peacekeepers of Canada are the best nation to start the ball rolling. All this being said, it occurs to me that any big movement that has had success in the past has been pushed into the spotlight by the musicians and artists of the world. We might not be rich or have a mighty army, but we have the power of ideas and influence!
I feel blessed by the talents of my friends and so I am proposing a collective be formed. I am going to begin the production of a film that will voice the opinions of Canadians opposed to the American bullying that has gone on for too long. I would like for anyone interested to submit music and artwork, as well as opinions and facts to this project. If it can raise awareness and get the world working together to make the planet just the tiniest bit better for everyone on it, this project will be a success. If the decent people of Canada, America and the whole World continue to sit on their hands waiting to see what will happen, then we are no better than the terrorists who drive car bombs, the terrorists who fly airplanes or the terrorists who shield their secret agencies from the law and unjustly invade other countries for the sake of capitalism. It's time to make some big changes for the sake of our global nation! Who's in?

Poetry by Cara: my fire
she was flaming
beauty contained in a box
as i removed her lid
i found what i was unaware was lacking within myself
a regular renaissance woman
posessing power that, even in her innocent self assurance she was clueless of
holding the world in the palm of her hand, also having the option to smash it to bits if it was so her wish
the heart of an angel, the mind of lucifer
the absolute perfect mixture.
Mother to all who hold her heart
my golden calf with a worn and weathered but resilient spirit
when her fire rages out of control, i'm the water there to calm the flames
you've created your own monster my dear friend :)
Ignited the long over due fire to my mind..

What's Your Beef With "Rap Metal"?
Presenting: The Real Rap Metal Mixtape
Radio shuns it. Critics hate it. Maybe y'all might change your tune if you listened to the following mixtape. Maybe not?
Anthrax & Public Enemy - Bring Tha Noize
Rage Against The Machine - Know Your Enemy
Ice-T - Cop Killer
Beastie Boys - No Sleep 'Til Brooklyn
Run DMC - Raising Hell
Kid Rock - Devil Without a Cause
Incubus - Redefine
Korn - Freak on a Leash
Limp Bizkit - Break Stuff
Faith No More - Epic
Chuck D on steroids - the, "D to E to F to I to A to N to C to E," of Rage - the lyrical flava of DMC - the artistically poetic "Incubus" - The ambiguous and enigmatic "Faith No More". What's not to love? Chek these lyrics if you're not convinced.
"Well, Farrakhan's a prophet and I think you ought to listen to what he can say to you; what you ought to do". Follow for now, power to the people say, "Make a miracle. D, pump the lyrical." Chuck D.
"The finger to the land of the chains! What? the land of the free? Whoever told you that is your enemy. Now something must be done about vengeance, a badge and a gun." Zach de la Roche.
"Cop killer, better you than me. Cop killer, fuck police brutality! Cop killer, I know your family's grievin' (fuck 'em). Cop killer, but tonight we get even." Ice-T.
"On location touring around the nation, 'Beastie Boys' always on vacation. Itchy trigger finger but a stable turntable, I do what I do best because I'm illing and able." Beastie Boys.
"It's highly appraised when the hell is raised, so demanding and commanding that you all stand dazed. The unbelieving receiving prophecy so true. I cut the head off the Devil and I throw it at you." DMC.
"I went from St. Claire Shores and drink specials at Winners to New York City and 700 dollar dinners; from hangin' with sinners and second hand cheap sex to gettin much respect from top record execs." Kid Rock.
"Picture the scene, where whatever you thought, would, in the blink of an eye, manifest and become illustrated. You'd be sure man that every line drawn reflected a life that you loved not an existence that you hated" Brandon Boyd.
"Something takes a part of me; something lost and never seen. Everytime I start to believe, something's raped and taken from me." Jonathan Davis.
"No human contact and if you interact your life is on contract. Your best bet is to stay away motherfucker. It's just one of those days!" Fred Durst.
"It's alive, afraid, a lie, a sin. It's magic, it's tragic, it's a loss, it's a win. It's dark, it's moist, it's a bitter pain. It's sad it happened and it's a shame. It's it. What is it?" Mike Patton.
Revolution, rebellion, frustration, jubilation, irreverence, pride, positivity, dispair, being overwhelmed, searching; you don't get all this for a buck twenty five at the five and dime. Give it a spin or give your two cents.

SAD DAYS
sad days are upon us
the earth is spinning
too fast
rotating on it's axis
sometimes i wonder
it it's gonna last
bombs here and
guns blaring there
killing one another
it just ain't fair
tornados, hurricanes
all kinds of disasters
are we still the masters
of our domain?
seeing homeless
dying on the streets
not enough to eat
when's it gonna stop?
when did brotherly
love become a
thing of the past?

lookin like survival
of the fittest
don't know if i
can grasp
things the
way they are
fur sure
the world's spinning
too fast!

Angel's Back in tha Day Tale: A Night With Ted Nugent
It's 1980 and times are still pretty cool; still some hippies and long hairs around and lots of pot still. So I hear that Ted Nugent is playing in Reno, Nevada. Can't find anyone to go with so this chick I know says her sister likes Ted Nugent and would love to see him. That's cool so I ask does she wanna go with me. This chick is only 18 years old and seems cool. I was 33 years old by then.
So we get to the concert and Martana's really fucked up. She had been drinking and stoning all day it seems. So I have to drive her VW to the concert - she's too messed up. We get inside and it's a pretty rowdy crowd of peeps. Little different than I was used to. Lot's of long haired cowboys and biker types.
We work our way to the front of the stage and Martana is flirting her little ass off with all of the dudes. The show starts and Ted's singing "Cat Scratch Fever", man, the place is jumpin'. I'm just into smoking a "J" and feeling mellow; lot's of pot all around us. So, there are a few fists fights going on all around us. Some angry peeps in the audience.
People start pushing hard and Martana and I are pushed up against the stage. It's getting scary and I'm trying to get out of there. All of a sudden, Ted Nugent flys over the stage and audience with only a loin cloth on and hangin on to a rope. He starts yelling, "rape em! Rape em! Rape em!" Man, the dudes in front go wild.
One dude grabs Martana and starts trying to pull her clothes off. I start hitting him and trying to get us out of there. She's screamin and Ted's exciting the crowd even more. It turns really ugly. These 4 dudes surround me and Martana and start trying to rip our clothes off. Luckily I had self defense training in the military and was pretty strong in those days. I start hitting these dudes. They push me up against the wall of the stage and I fall to the ground. I thought I was gonna be crushed.
Then these security guys push through the crowd and save me and Martana's ass's. They take us back to security and make sure we are ok. So they let us go and I decide I'll never to to another Ted Nugent show again. I didn't know anything about him back then. After, I read that he was a really macho asshole and was into killing animals just for the kill. That was one concert that turned bad.
That shit used to happen sometimes back in those days. There were a few general admission concerts where peeps got crushed to death against the stage. After that I learned my lesson (not getting too close to the stage unless I knew it was gonna be a mellow concert). Still like "Cat Scratch Fever" but have a hard time listening to it since that show.

Poetry by Cara: my once exquisite rose
a single rose
once crimson and vibrant with life
but the winds of fate have changed their direction
thus my beautiful flower began to wither away
i tried to water and revive her back to life, but her thorns were
too piercing
i dyed her black, alas only this would do her justice
as the now death hued petals fall from her
i'll shed a single tear for what was once my exquisite rose...

THEMUSICALREVOLUTION.COM THIS MONTH: This month we'd like to send out big love to Cara and recognize these NEW countries to tha fold: China, Guatemala, Korea (South) & Peru. 65 countries and counting. The "NewMusicalRevolution" Update: Research/Design/PreConstruction phase :) So, I finally got that tune up *says sheepishly*. My cover of "Gold Dust Woman" originally recorded by Fleetwood Mac now graces the Corporate Cash Cow... page http://www.themusicalrevolution.com/ccc.php The recording skills are still "coming along" but I am quite proud of the whole thing musically. Chek it - it's only a 5 meg'ish' download ;)
EDITORIAL:
To put it plainly and simply, I am not a fan of politics. Politics to me is persuasion and persuasion is tricky. The only politicians that I admire are those who sacrifice themselves for others. This brings me to Rosa Parks - R.I.P.
This past month, the political icon died at the age of 92 peacefully in her sleep. She is most revered for refusing to surrender her seat on the bus to a white man in times of racial segregation and a prevailing master/slave mentality. This act of defiance cost her $14.00 and time spent in jail. Her simple yet profound actions on that day in 1955 sparked an entire civil rights movement in the U.S. and made her a beacon of hope around the world for the suppressed and poverty stricken.
What I find most compelling and most relevent about this story is that it is so "not" extra-ordinary. Simple self sacrifice can mean the world to the world. This should be inspirational to us all.
Mrs. Parks' death got me to think of my own self sacrifice. As I sit at my computer sipping coffee, what am I offering to the world? A little research on the internet (see: www.worldbank.org) teaches me that the average income of a person living on this planet works out to $17.21 (Americain currency) daily. In order for us to live our comfortable lives 70+% of the world have to live on less than that with almost a 6th of the planet living on >$1. Maybe I should've forgone the double expresso with whipped cream on top ;)
The only conclusions that I can come up with are as follows: $17.21 sounds liveable? If I use the extra to try and give back the only way that I know how, then and only then can I really have an opinion on the matter. Then and only then can I be a worthwhile "politician". Until then, I'm gonna shut up and continue to make music the best that I can. You can download my latest offering @: http://www.themusicalrevolution.com/ccc.php - sadly, 70% of the world can't afford to :(
Damn you Rosa Parks for making me think political. God bless you for everything else!
Mad Love,
i220
MUSIC NEWS:
1. BONO AND BOB GELDOLF NOMINATED FOR NOBEL PEACE PRIZE: Both were nominated this last month for their efforts in pressuring G8 leaders to increase financial aid to African countries. The award was given to the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) and its Director General, Mohamed ElBaradei for their efforts in esuring safe and peaceful use of nuclear energy. In other Bono news: The U2 front man dined with the president this last month. Lunch conversation included topics such as debt relief, AIDS, malaria, world trade and the band's upcoming concerts in Washington.
2. DIGITAL FILE CHECK - ANTI FILE-SHARING SOFTWARE: The International Federation of Phonographic Industries has released a program designed to prevent illegal file swapping. "Digital File Check" can help people remove unwanted file-sharing programs off of their home computers or large companies can use it to police work systems. The program is available online and through CD distribution in 8 European countries so far.
3. NEW YORK AND LOUISIANA PHILHARMONIC ORCHESTRAS UNITE FOR BENEFIT: Members of both orchestras performed an all American composed program at a concert held on October 28th at the Lincoln Center's Avery Fisher Hall. Proceeds went to rebuilding the Louisianna Philharmonic in the wake of Hurricane Katrina. For further details check: Louisiana Philharmonic - www.lpomusic.org or New York Philharmonic - www.newyorkphilharmonic.org
4. APPLE SUED FOR FRAGILE NANO iPODS: A group of unhappy customers are suing the company stating that the device's screen can "scratch excessively during normal usage," rendering it unreadable. The suit further claims that the Nano's screen is protected by a resin that is inferior to it's predecessors and that Apple have all but ignored the defect despite user complaints of screens cracking even under "normal" use. More information at: www.flawedmusicplayer.com
5. WHO CARES? - The NBA and its players association have decided that all of its players should dress "business casual" immediately prior to and following all games. No more Hip Hop styles. No more headphones. Not surprising. It's been a long time since any real (non corporate) fan was at a meet and greet or able to afford tickets close enough to see what our boys are actually wearing... Bonehead Boy George called the cops to report a robbery but ended up getting busted for cocaine posession. Apparently, BG's repeated screams of, "...but I'm Boy George" and "has anybody got a bloody tissue" did nothing to help the ex Culture Clubber's case... Janet (Jackson), meet Billie Jean. Billie, the kid is not Janet's (son) daughter either... Wacko Jacko musta made some friends back in the old judicial system of the great U.S of A. The alleged "potty trainer" has just been called in for jury duty??? What the? Ain't that kinda like asking Ted Kaczynski (Unabomber) to watch your house for the weekend?.. B.I.G. - R.I.P. Sorry CW but you're gonna have to wait for that 'cause a bunch 'o money grubbin' popsters are gonna ride your legacy (and Bob Marley's) all the way to the bank... New Notorius B.I.G duets album out Dec. 21st... and now a word from our sponsor... A panel of magazine editors, artists and designers has chosen the picture of a naked John Lennon and Yoko Ono taken hours before the icon was gunned down as the best magazine cover of the last 40 years. The picture was later used by Rolling Stone as a tribute to the dead Beatle and marks not the first or apparently the last time society has capitalized on the death of a musical genius... Blah blah blah bitter blah loser blah blah... LOL!
